The BBC Wales-commissioned shows both failed to land a viewer-voted National Television Award for Most Popular Drama in one of the most hotly-anticipated contests of this year’s show.
The Doctor and Arthur Conan-Doyle’s star detective were beaten by BBC One series Waterloo Road.
