Chalk up another 'first' for Vermont. The Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction announced today that Burlington cartoonist James Kochalka (whose 'American Elf' appears in Seven Days) will be appointed the first-ever state cartoonist laureate.I thought Get Your War On's David Rees was based in NC, but it looks like, while born in Chapel Hill, he lives in New York. Not sure if he's eligible then to be NC's Cartoonist Laureate? Wait, we don't have one yet? For shame.
