Year after year, long after the Pentagon picked East Hartford-based Pratt's F135 engine, the U.S. House has sent hundreds of millions of dollars to GE to develop its version, known as the F136. Wednesday's vote to strip $450 million for the GE engine this year was 233-198, with 110 Republicans and 123 Democrats united against the second engine.
