The Nutmeggers He Met Probably Not from East Hartford
The people of the Nutmeg State have such charming, deferential manners, I think of them as Connecticanadians.Thu Jul 29 20:28:21 via UberTwitterUncle Dynamite

And now, I'm wondering what Connecticanadian Bacon might be. I propose an Augie & Ray's hot dog split lengthwise.

Reminder: Richard Burr (R) NC Hates the Unemployed
The Plum Line - Two more GOPers say unemployment benefits encourage folks to stay unemployed
If you're unemployed, or have feared layoffs in the last couple years, just remember what Richard Burr thinks of you when you go to the polls this fall. We need to get Marshall elected.

I haven't investigated the criteria of the source list but, of course, many omissions leap to mind. Primarily, where the heck are the Kim Stanley Robinson novels?

Burr and Tobacco Money
I saw in my Twitter feed a post from OpenSecrets.org regarding their interest group resources and wondered, "how high on the list of recipients of tobacco money is Burr? He's probably number one."
Think I was correct? Check the result here: Tobacco | Open Secrets.

"The Hangover" We Ain't
Pro Tip: Nothing signals "This Party is Gonna Rawk" to the Groom-To-Be quite like his Best Man picking him up in a minivan loaded up with sippy cups and a Snoopy plush toy jammed up against the side window.
Kidding aside, last night was a great time. The folks at Dave & Buster's here in Providence, RI take good care of you. Reminds me I need to go online and do the survey for our waitress. She was a good sport about listening to Uncle John's stories a good part of the night, even though she couldn't rustle up a "King of Lap Dances" badge for us to pin on him.

Wishing All and Sundry a Happy, Safe Independence Day Weekend
It's vacation time for the cdogzilla family. As we get ready for cook-outs, fireworks, visiting family & friends, and a wedding coming up I'll be spending less time in front of the computer over the next couple weeks.
If I'm not seeing you in person, please consider this my best wishes for you and yours. I hope you're getting some grilling in, will see some fireworks, maybe a parade (if you like that sort of thing), and the weather where you are cooperates with all your plans.
Have fun, be safe, relax and enjoy.
