Did you know a coroner doesn't need a medical degree to diagnose the cause of death? An NPR News investigation in partnership with ProPublica and PBS Frontline explores the nation's 2,300 coroner and medical examiner offices, and finds a troubled system that literally buries its mistakes.
Caught this on the radio on the ride home from work tonight. No, I didn't know that in many counties anyone without a felony conviction who meets the age requirement can run for the office. The type so mistakes that can be, and are, made are dismaying.
