Back at the turn of the 19th century, those waters drew visitors from around the region. Their popularity bloomed as people arrived by the trainload, and a half-dozen or more hotels and boarding houses went up to accommodate tourists.
Well, it's not much to look at. When we were new in town and checked out the park for the first time, I thought maybe the spring had dried up because I didn't see anything that looked like a tourist attraction. (I may have unreasonably been expecting something more like Old Faithful than was fair to look for in a mineral spring.) It'll be interesting to see if the town does anything different with the site as owner.
