As we approached the first steps of our neighbor’s house, she pointed out all of the Halloween decorations. We had been talking about them all week as we walked through the neighborhood. She knew how to say the sounds of a ghost, witch, bat and goblin. We tried to get her to say ‘trick or treat’ just before we rang the doorbell, but I think there was just too much excitement. Our neighbor met us at the door with a dish full of candy. Our little monkey didn’t really understand what was going on, so she just invited herself in, walked right through the door and started playing on their carpet. This is what she usually did when a door to a house was opened, why was this different?
