All those hours in the Conservation Lab at Homer Babbidge Library all those years ago just came rushing back to mind: the smell of PVC, the feel of the bone folder, drawing the thread across a block of wax to make it easier to thread the needle ... hey, look, there's my old boss, teaching the internet some of the basics just like she did me day one on the job.
